An efficient anisotropization technique to transform isotropic nonlinear materials into unidirectional and bidirectional composites

This work presents a procedure to transform an isotropic nonlinear and rate-dependent material model into orthotropic. transformation relies on fast computation modifying the inelastic evolution along any desired direction. With this concept, constitutive law of pure isotropic, is fully preserved. paper shows direct application describe response unidirectional (UD) or bidirectional (BD) fiber-reinforced polymer composites. Imposing one constraint leads UD composite, whilst imposing two orthogonal directions BD composite. The proposed methodology implemented as user-defined for Finite Element solvers. To prove method, different visco-plastic models used resins are anisotropized obtain their corresponding composite counterparts. mechanical simulations compared qualitatively quantitatively experimental tests coupon under off-axis tensile test load directions.
